Just north of the village are the remains of the Roman town of Tripontium. The village is also at the northern end of the "Great Central Way" the footpath along the trackbed of the old Great Central Railway.
The village also boasts the oldest building in Warwickshire used as a pub. The Stag and Pheasant is a listed building with a rare roof construction and thatch. There is also the St Thomas’s Cross pub on the outskirts of the village.
